Today is my first official day out of bed rest!! Can’t wait until I can get moving along and get going with life again.

The red patch above the burn is the donor site where they took the skin for the skin graft.
It has been crazy since my surgery last week. I was in the hospital until the following Monday. It was lonely, long, and boring. I am so glad to be out! I went back to the doctor today. He said that I am healing well. Wednesday I’ll be able to remove the bandage and finally get out of bed and start moving. Sounds like a great plan to me. Here is a pic taken with my iphone of when they took the bandages off a few days after surgery. It was a gross bloody mess. I hope you all are careful and use something on your laps under your laptop. You just never know what can happen. Please warn your children as well. I recently purchased a table for the couch, bed, chair, etc, so I don’t have to have my laptop sitting on my lap. It’s a good investment. I advise you all to get something similar. Especially for your children.

I am so sorry to all the clients that have contacted me, and the clients that I have had to postpone sessions with. This is the busiest season for me. I hope to be back on my feet and working within a couple more weeks, maybe even 10 days. I know that I have a few newborns waiting on me and I NEED to get them in asap.

As a lot of you know my laptop caught on fire last week and gave me third degree burns on my left thigh. It’s been a rough week. I will have to go to Oklahoma City on Thursday for surgery. Then I will be on the road to recovery.
To my clients:
I did lose a lot of my edited files when my laptop exploded so I will have to re edit those files. All original files are safe in my external hard drive. It may take a couple of weeks to get these all edited due to the surgery and amount of files. Thank you all so much for being so patient with me.

I am documenting the burn daily. Here is a photo that was taken last night. I want you all to be CAREFUL!! Don’t leave your computers on when you go to bed or leave your home. This was a serious wake up call for me. I am so glad that it was me that burned and not my kids or my house. Please learn from this! My laptop was an Alienware which is now owned by Dell.

To those of you who have bought my jewelry making instructions, could you please email them to me at contact @ jessicahughes.com? I am desperate here. My laptop caught on fire Monday giving me third degree burns, but worst of all lost a lot of my work. I didn’t have those files backed up (shame on me)!
The laptop was by Alienware so if you have one of those laptops please be careful.
