Hangin’ with my homegirl

My dear friend and her two sons drove out yesterday from Denison Texas to visit! We relaxed all day yesterday. Today we went out to have some lunch at Rosa’s Tortilla Factory. All of you that live in Lawton need to try it. It’s yummy and inexpensive. As you know, we don’t have many choices in the Lawton area.

After lunch we went shopping at Walmart. You can cry for me now, we have NO Target in Lawton. It should be a crime!! I’ll attach some pics from our day below.

My dearest friend Dawn has been battling stage 4 breast cancer for 7 years. Bless her heart. My prayers go out to her every day.

Here are some pics from our day. dawn-day-1.jpg

Do you see those yummy cheese enchilada’s? Yum! dawn-day-2.jpgdawn-day-3.jpgdawn-day-4.jpgdawn-day-5.jpg

Have a beautiful Tuesday!

Book your wedding with me today!

Isn’t she a gorgeous bride? She was so much fun and so beautiful. I had a lot of fun shooting her wedding. I hope to do yours soon! I definitely do travel for weddings.

All Smiles

I had such a beautiful newborn in my studio today. I could not believe how much she smiled at just one week old. She was so calm. I could have gotten so many photos if only my pocket wizard didn’t break!! I didn’t notice until Mandy, the mother of sweet Braylnn showed up for their session. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it is a product that attaches to my camera to fire my studio lights. So I had to use my small window in my studio for these pics. I have asked her to come back next week when I can get a replacement in.

She is such a sweet baby and her Mom is absolutely wonderful as is her Grandma. :) bray-for-blog-2.jpg

She almost made me want another. Good thing I’m fixed. ;)

On another note, my website is up! I still have quite a bit of work to do, including putting my splash page back up. I finally have some wedding photos on my website. Please visit my new site and let me know what you think!

Working hard on the new website!

screenshot-81.jpgI have been working non stop on my new website. Unfortunately, due to my satellite connection, I have passed my fair access policy so I cannot upload or download anything. I am hoping to get the new site up tomorrow. Cross your fingers, I know I am.

Shannon from Flashpalette is going to help me step by step. Their customer service is beyond outstanding!! If you haven’t checked them out you should definitely do so. Their templates are so easy to customize for yourself and your style.

Here are some screen shots of my new site. Just a little tease until I can get it up.

New site

I’m working on it! I still have many, many hours to put into it. If you view it now it’s a bit messed up but should be fixed by tomorrow. I don’t think the contact section works so if you need to email me please do so directly to contact@jessicahughes.com.

Working on a new website

I am currently working on a new website with a template from Flashpalette. It may take some time to get it all together.

If you need a pick me up tonight, here’s a great song to listen to.

Vampire Weekend - A-Punk

It’s not too early to book for Christmas!!

I’ve already started booking for Christmas. This is definitely the busiest time of year. It’s a great time to get portraits made to give as presents, Christmas cards, and get some great portraits for yourself.

Call or write to book your appt. soon!

For the photogs out there, if you are wondering where I got this cute Christmas card template, you can find them at Saavy Designs by Jess.  She has the best prices out there. She also just released a WHCC book template! I ordered mine and can’t wait to put it together and send it in to WHCC. :)

Goal for the week

I’ve been meaning to recreate this photo all summer! My goal for the week is to do just that. I’ll be missing two kids. The two on the right are my cousin’s kiddos, whom live in Salt Lake. I’ll just have my three this time. This photo was taken two years ago. It’ll be fun to see how different my kids are when placed side by side.

Now for the song of the day. I love this band from the UK. They put me in a good mood every time I listen to them.

The Kooks - Always Where I Need to Be

Music…my drug of choice

I love music. Anyone out there listen to ethel on XM radio? That is the station I am tuned in to whenever I’m driving around.

I’m going to attempt doing a song of the day…video from youtube.com. Have patience with me while I try out new things on my blog. I am learning how to get the best out of it.

This is an older song but I love it just the same.

Death Cab for Cutie

Crooked Teeth

Blog update

I will be working on updating my blog over the next couple of days. I can now add some big pictures to my blog, which I love.

Here is a test of the photos I am capable of uploading now. pups-for-blog.jpg

One more month and the kids will be back in school! Summer has gone by so fast. It seems like they just got out of school yesterday. We’ve had a fun summer, and plan on spending the rest of the summer swimming. It’s hot and moist here in Oklahoma. It’s good that mother nature has given us a bit of a break this last week. We’ve had overcast sky’s and rain. Very nice for a change.
