Unique textures!! You’ll love them!

My dear friend, Kimberly, has created the most unique textures that I have ever seen. You photogs will love them. I was able to get a sneak peak and play with them a bit. They can be used for many different effects. What makes these textures so great? Not only do you get cool textures but you get words to overlay with them! They are gorgeous and they are only $12 at CG Designs.

After Friday they will be only $15!! Well worth it!

Here are some fun examples. storyboard-collage_72.jpgstoryboard_1-copy.jpgwed10030-copy.jpgwed10031-copy.jpg2_with-texture-and-words-copy.jpg

Um…WOW!!

So I had the pleasure of spending my early morning and early afternoon with Mrs. Oklahoma, Brooke Good. Not only is she GORGEOUS but she is also one of the sweetest people that I have met. I heart of gold. Truly. I had a great time with her. I just started proofing the pics and have to stop. Sore throat. :( I’m suspicious of allergies. I am going to take the night off and try to get all the Mother’s Day actions mailed out. And yes…I am back online!! Woohoo!! I did manage to get some much needed house work done while the internet was down. Unfortunately the laundry fairies didn’t make it to my house. I’ll cross my fingers that they come tonight. ;)

It’s hard to pick just a few photos of Brooke. She is so beautiful!! I would also take this moment to mention that my 10 year old daughter is teasing me for my choice of blog title. “Um, LIKE, WOW!”. How does she know that valley girl voice so well?? Ha!

After the session with Brooke I met with the Hospice center of Lawton. I will start working with them capturing photos for a family and donating a session of prints in either a photo album or photo box of their choice. If there are any photographers in Lawton that would like to join on I know that they would truly appreciate it. As of now I am the only professional photographer offering my services. If you are interested please contact me. :)

Much love and happiness!!

Eek!

My dear hubby ran into my satellite dish last night. It will take at least a week until I am on line again. For all of you that haven’t received your actions, don’t worry! I’ll still get them to you, it will just take a bit longer. I apologize for that.

My only complaint about living in the country is that I have to pay high prices for satellite which isn’t even near as cool and fast as dsl.

I hope you all have a wonderful week. I will try to check in every now and then when I come into town.

Cheers!

I have responded to all the emails that I received after the death of the power cord, which came through on my desktop. Mrs. Oklahoma

Look who graced my studio last Saturday. Mrs. Oklahoma and her beautiful family. Of course I was expecting a beautiful woman to photograph but she is also beautiful on the inside. Such a sweet, compassionate person! I had a lot of fun with this family. Our plan was to do quite a few on location portraits but her two little guys were not in the mood for it. I can’t say that I blame them. It was cold and windy. I was able to get one good shot of them, then it was off to the studio.

The boys did a little better there but wanted to be with Daddy and Mommy the entire time. Luckily I had my little assistant (my daughter Mackenzie) to help me out by blowing bubbles and having a toy frog eat my head. ;) Those two boys are adorable. Here is a sneak peak for Brooke and Teddy. I hope you like them. I will have your proofs up on my website soon!!

Brooke, I can’t wait until next week when we can get together and do some with your gowns and your crown!!

Model casting call!

I am looking for some seniors to be my senior reps for the 2008-2009 year. If you are a senior and you would like some fun and funky pics done, please send me a recent snapshot of yourself. Have friends? Tell them to send them to me as well. contact@jessicahughes.com.

What will you get? A free session with multiple outfit changes. A free 8×10 fine art print, and 50 rep cards that will have your photo on the front and my studio info on the back. I like to have lots of fun in my studio and in urban locations.

I was so blessed yesterday. This little guy and his sweet Mom came to visit me so that I could take some pictures of him. Can you tell from these photos that this adorable almost two year old is blind and disabled? I sure can’t! He is such a sweet, loving little boy. Joy just shines through him. He truly touched my heart as did his Mom. I have so many favorites from this session but I’ll only post a few.

I would also like to take this opportunity to let all of you Lawton residents know that I will now be volunteering my photography services to Hospice. I am very passionate about this. My Mother was in Hospice care when she passed away in Nov. of 2007. She lived in Salt Lake City. I didn’t get to her in time. By the time I arrived she was incoherent. I would love to be able to take photos for their loved ones, for those that would like this service. I will be able to do two sessions per month. The family will receive all prints sized 4×6 in either a beautiful album or a beautiful image box.

I hope you all have a wonderful, joyous day!!

Newborns

I love them. I love photographing them. It’s never easy but the payoff is definitely worth it.

For all you mother’s out there that have worried that your newborn is too fussy during a shoot, don’t worry! Most of them are. It takes quite a bit of time to get them to settle down and fall asleep.

I like to photograph newborns within the first week of birth. This is so we can curl them up and they seem to sleep more often during this first week.

Here is a beautiful newborn from last week. She is beautiful! It took Mom a while to get her to calm down. In fact, we shot two separate days to get the photos that I ended up getting.

I am currently looking for a couple of newborn models. You will receive a free session, 8×10 and 5×7 as well as 30% off of gift size prints and 10% off of wall portraits. You will have to sign a model release which would allow me to use the photos on my website, advertising, etc.

If you going to be delivering your baby during the month of May, please email me for more information.
