Delightful Weather!

If you are in Oklahoma you must be enjoying the beautiful spring weather we’ve been having. Blossoms and leaves are blooming on the trees, birds are chirping, and I can open the windows of my house and turn off my heater. There’s nothing like fresh air in the house. I LOVE days when I can do this.

You can find me on MySpace now. I’ve had some fun looking up some old friends. Visit me and add me to your friends. I’ll still be doing most of my blogging here but occasionally something different on MySpace profile.

Don’t forget the sale on the jewelry instructions. Only $80, regular price is $200. This sale ends the last day of March!!

I’m also looking for a few models. I need some maternity models, bridals, and newborns!! You’ll get a free session and an 8×10 and 5×7 print with a deep discount off of my regular print prices.

I am now offering model portfolio’s. Contact me for more information!

What’s up? I haven’t received one comment since I moved my blog. First two people to comment on my blog will receive a set of my actions!

Beautiful!!

Yesterday I had my very first maternity session. Laura was quite the trooper putting up with my wraps and testing stuff out with her. She has a wonderful personality and she is absolutely gorgeous! I had a lot of fun with her and her sweet little guy.

Big Sale!!

Photo jewelry is HOT right now. You can really make a good living making photo jewelry if you market yourself correctly. In fact, I am no longer doing wholesale jewelry because I could not keep up with business.

I have my photo tile instructions on sale now. The biggest sale ever!!! The regular price is $200. The sales that I have had in the past have been for $100. From now until March 30th you can get these directions for only $80!!! That’s a huge savings. I am celebrating the spring weather that we are having and my son’s third birthday.

If you are interested in purchasing this info, which includes a list of all supplies you will need, how to make the tiles, how to seal the tiles and finish them off, and also how to make them into jewelry tiles, photo ornaments, and photo magnets you can pay $80 to contact@jessicahughes.com. It is a fun craft to take up. I make them for family and friends as gifts. They cherish them dearly. I can’t tell you how many times I get stopped when I am wearing my jewelry, which gives me the opportunity to hand them my photography business card.

I hope you all enjoy your day. I’ll be announcing a huge contest from Savvy Designs by Jess. She will be launching it soon!!

I’ve been practicing with my new ring flash. Lot’s of fun. It has a high glamor look. Here is a picture of my sweet daughter. Bless her for putting up with me. ;)

New textures

I’ve been working on some textures as overlays for photos. Something a little different and fun. Each one is full res. They are easy to use. Just put them on top of your photo, reduce the opacity to your liking and erase the parts that you don’t want in your photo. I usually erase over the subject of the photo. All the way on the skin areas, and leave some, just a little on the clothing.

Here is what they look like over a photo. :)

  • Let me know what you think! :) Here is a close up of 1a. It is a bit hard to see since it is white. I thought it would look really nice with wedding or bridal photos.

  • I am off to Oklahoma City today to watch the play Annie with my girls. :) Then I have a week off…no kids.
  • Song of the day. Hot Hot Heat - Let Me In. It’s my current ring tone and will probably stay that way for a while because I don’t bother to change it often. ;)

Spring Break!

Has officially started! The kids and I kicked it off last night by going to see ‘Horton Hears a Who’. It was a great movie. We all had lots of laughs.

Did some cleaning today, took two of our dogs in to get their vaccinations, and played outside with the pups. We’ve had a beautiful week. Lots of sunshine. Tomorrow we’ll be going to Oklahoma City. We’ll be seeing a live production of Annie at the civic center. Should be fun! That was my favorite movie as a child and I remember my Mom taking me to my first play, which was Annie. Hopefully the girls will enjoy it. Then I will leave them there with their Grammy and Papa, come home, and organize my business! I have a couple of maternity sessions planned for next week. Can’t wait to do them. They’ll be my first!!

If you are in the Lawton area I am offering free maternity sessions, free puppy or kitty sessions, and free newborn sessions. This is a $100 value. You will also receive one 8×10 and one 5×7  as well as 30% off of my regular print prices. I am trying to get some new work in my portfolio. I seem to do a lot of kids and toddlers. :)

If you are interested please contact me through my website.

Song of the day. Vampire Weekend - A Punk. A fun song. :)

Want to adopt a puppy?

If you are in the Lawton/Fort sill area I have some beautiful, wonderful puppies that are up for adoption. I will be so sad to see them go, and want to make sure they find a good home. They are one month old. Their mother is not wanting to nurse them anymore so I’ve run out of excuses to keep them. There are 5 in all. 4 girls and 1 boy. They are all very cute and sweet. Their mother is a great dog. Well mannered, sweet, and lovable. They are a mixed breed. I’m not sure what kind, but mutts make the best pets.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, and can provide a good home for him/her, please contact me.

I have decided to start learning wedding photography. I am really excited about it, and never thought that I would be. I will start my training soon so I can provide Lawton with some gorgeous contemporary wedding photos. I can’t wait to get started!

Song of the day! Everything’s Magic by Angels and Airwaves. A beautiful song to remind you that life is worth living. :)

Happy Sunday!

Don’t forget to move your clocks ahead! I’m looking out my window right now. The sun is shining, the wind isn’t blowing, and it looks like a beautiful spring morning. Then I look and it is only 30 degrees outside. Oh, I am so ready for spring. I want to get out and start shooting those spring blossoms. Get my kids out and photograph them with my fisheye lens. The weather in Oklahoma so kooky. We’ll have a 70 degree day, then the next day it’s 20 degrees with a wind chill of 10 degrees. It drives me crazy! I’m just ready for that warm weather, how about you?

Our  pups are really starting to get big. 3 weeks old and they’re starting to walk around, bark, and definitely whine for their Momma. This is the latest picture of the entire litter. The four white/brown pups are girls and the only dark one is their only brother. He’s like a big old bear cub.

I am currently offering free maternity and newborn sessions, which is a value of $100. I want to get more experience with both subjects. If you are interested please send me an email. You will receive a free session, an 8×10, 5×7, and 30% off of my fine art print prices.

Enjoy your Sunday! Our pups

New Blog!

I would like to thank Theresa Stanton for moving and customizing my blog for me. It’s so nice to have it on my own site.

A lot has been going on with me. Testing new lighting techniques, taking care of a litter of puppies, and life in general. I am also involved in a new project. You have to check this out. I don’t think you will find better prices anywhere. So if you are in the market for some new actions, presets, and templates, come see us here at CG Designs.
