Thank you all for your nice notes. It’s great to know there are so many caring, compassionate people in the world. I’ll have to take a pic of my leg today. It’s almost healed up. Just a few places that are being stubborn. I’ll have to live with that sexy leg forever though. I don’t have a chance of it fading with my white legs. Haha!

I’ve been so swamped with work I haven’t had time for fun. Which also means blog posting.

I lost my dearest friend on Nov. 4th. My ‘homegirl’ that I posted about a couple of months ago. She had a long 7 year battle with breast cancer. She was extremely strong thoughout the years but God had other plans for her. I hope she is shining that bright smile of hers in heaven now. I will miss her dearly for the rest of my life.

This one was taken the day, just minutes after my laptop fire. At the time I was much more concerned for my laptop than my lap. Beautiful family! And Jess, I tried your home #, lost your cell, and your email address was in my old laptop. You’ll probably be getting a call at work today.

She was sucha good baby. SO beautiful.

It has been crazy since my surgery last week. I was in the hospital until the following Monday. It was lonely, long, and boring. I am so glad to be out! I went back to the doctor today. He said that I am healing well. Wednesday I’ll be able to remove the bandage and finally get out of bed and start moving. Sounds like a great plan to me. Here is a pic taken with my iphone of when they took the bandages off a few days after surgery. It was a gross bloody mess. I hope you all are careful and use something on your laps under your laptop. You just never know what can happen. Please warn your children as well. I recently purchased a table for the couch, bed, chair, etc, so I don’t have to have my laptop sitting on my lap. It’s a good investment. I advise you all to get something similar. Especially for your children. Don’t let this happen to you!! I will be posting some more pics, maybe tomorrow of the donor site and the burn site.

I am so sorry to all the clients that have contacted me, and the clients that I have had to postpone sessions with. This is the busiest season for me. I hope to be back on my feet and working within a couple more weeks, maybe even 10 days. I know that I have a few newborns waiting on me and I NEED to get them in asap.

Today is my Mom’s birthday. It is also the day that she was diagnosed with lung cancer two years ago. Less than two months later I lost her. It has been a tough two years. In the words of the great Foo Fighters “it’s times like this you learn to live again”. So true. Life will never be the same without my momma.

So Mom, I love you. I hope that you are proud of me and are able to watch your grandkids grow up. They miss you dearly, as do I. I miss you every day. I am happy that I get to see your beautiful smile in my dreams.

The next session is my ice cream session. How great would it to be to have a portrait of your kids sitting on a curb eating ice cream, messy as can be? I have a large 30×40 framed canvas in my living room. It is gorgeous. I get so many compliments on it. For those of you that have been to my studio you know exactly what I am talking about.
